| A site to let you know there is someone out there who has gone through what you are going through. authored by A Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Survivor and her Caregiver. |
| My name is Aldeane Sööt and I am a survivor of a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington in November 2002 for Myelodysplastic Syndrome(MDS). I am not medically trained in any way. My hope is to be able to give some insight from the patient's side of a bone marrow transplant to those who are interested. My husband, Peet Sööt, was my caregiver and was at my side almost every minute of my hospitalization and recovery. He wrote a section from his point of view on my illness and recovery. We are both Orthodox Christians and our faith helped us tremendously through this ordeal. God has seen fit to let me survive and I am hoping I can do whatever it is He thought I could with the lessons I have learned. |
